This document specifies a horizontal method for
— the enumeration of L. monocytogenes, and
— the enumeration of Listeria spp. (including L. monocytogenes).
This document is applicable to
— products intended for human consumption and for the feeding of animals, and
— environmental samples in the area of food production and food handling.
It is possible that certain additionally described Listeria species may not be enumerated or confirmed by this method.
