This International Standard is applicable torespiratory protective devices. It defines commonlyused terms and specifies units of measurement toachieve a uniform interpretation and to preventambiguous use. It indicates graphical symbols thatmay be required to be placed on respiratoryprotective devices (RPD) or parts of RPD orinstruction manuals, in order to instruct theperson(s) using the RPD about its operation.
