This part of ISO 6520 serves asthe basis for a preciseclassification and description ofweld imperfections.In order to avoid any confusion,the types of imperfection aredefined with explanations andillustrations where necessary.Metallurgical imperfections are notincluded.Another system for thedesignation of imperfections ispossible, according toISO/TS 17845. Annex B gives thecorrespondence between theexisting classification ofimperfections according toISO 6520-1 and the designationsystem according toISO/TS 17845.
