This International Standard definesterms used in the field ofcoating materials (paints, varnishesand raw materials for paintsand varnishes).Terms relating to specific applicationsand properties are dealt within standards concerning thoseapplications and properties, e.g.corrosion protection, coating powders.In addition to terms in English andFrench (two of the three officialISO languages), this InternationalStandard gives the equivalentterms in German; these are publishedunder the responsibility ofthe member body for Germany(DIN). However, only the termsand definitions given in the officiallanguages can be considered asISO terms and definitions.NOTE Those terms that are definedelsewhere in the standard are shownin bold type.
