This part of ISO 10303 specifies the use of the integrated resources necessary for the scope andinformation requirements for the exchange of spatial configuration information of industrial facilities, forexample, process plants, ships and their supporting systems. The spatial configuration informationfocuses on the shape and spatial arrangement of the components of the systems. The spatial configurationinformation principally supports the engineering, fabrication and installation life-cycle phases, but may beuseful in the downstream life-cycle phases of operations and maintenance. This part accommodates thedisciplines of plant design, system design, fabrication, inspection, installation and construction.
